JOB DESCRIPTION

This individual will partner with the VP of Financial Institution Partnerships on the overall strategy and management of one of Visa’s largest Canadian issuing accounts.

Responsibilities will include:

Develop and execute a customized partnership growth plan to drive client purchase volume growth through innovation, thought leadership, and best practice sharing.

Act as a thought leader, generating and communicating insights to improve client performance.

Deeply understand client needs and provide strategic guidance across the payment P&L.

Develop a thorough understanding of the client’s business including payment strategy across all relevant product platforms and business lines.

Proactively identify growth opportunities and recommendations that effectively and efficiently address the most impactful opportunities and challenges.

Recommend and support Visa product solutions where value added to the client

Prepare proposals and negotiate agreements for new products and services as needed

Foster productive relationships at all levels with the client and the Visa organization.

Generate and lead periodic business performance meetings for key lines of business to discuss client performance and proactively identify business issues and opportunities.

Implement agreed upon new products and services through excellent project management, working effectively with internal Visa and client teams.

 

Senior Account Executive, Financial Institution: Job Qualifications

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

15 or more years of experience with a Bachelors Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
o Demonstrated experience in managing a large and complex partner, client with multiple stakeholders from various areas of the organization and levels of seniority, experience
o Strong analytical skills and ability to identify insights in data sets that lead to opportunities
o Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and verbal and ability to build relationships and communicate at all levels within large organizations.
o Proven ability to identify & implement strategic initiatives with efficiency, professionalism and with demonstrated problem solving skills.
o Familiarity with digital solutions and technical implementations would be an asset
o Strategic thinking with inquisitive and intellectually curious mindset.
o Ability to negotiate business agreements, enhance existing agreements, and develop new business partnerships.
o Demonstrated track record of planning, managing, and closing complex, competitive sales efforts that involve multiple stakeholders.
o Demonstrated leadership, managerial and collaboration capabilities within a matrixed organization. Strong commitment to organizational success.
