Job Roles and Work Responsibilities:
Manage and lead the administration of Ingram Micro’s Dangerous Goods compliance program. Develops and administers best-in-class processes and systems to ensure dangerous goods are transported safely and in compliance with applicable 49 CFR, IATA, and TDG regulations. Supports the design, development, and implementation of dangerous goods policies, guidelines, and procedures. This role will also act as a DG specialist responsible for resolving compliance gaps and driving new compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintains current, expert knowledge base of applicable Dangerous Goods Regulations and legislation including but not limited to 49CFR, IATA and TDG.
Analyze potential impact on business processes, provide timely summaries and action plans to Compliance management team.
Identify regulatory risk and provide guidance for risk mitigations.
Quickly absorbs and presents on complex dangerous goods topics to diverse stakeholders and clients.
Effectively communicates and provides guidance on how to resolve issues and meet nuanced regulatory requirements to associates. Properly documents these actions in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Review and analyze contractual and other documents regarding dangerous goods and, when applicable, develop, implement, and document the appropriate compliance response.
Dangerous Goods Operations
Works with internal business partners to provide regulatory guidance on packaging, specification, marking, labeling, and shipping documents to support day-to-day DG operation.
Respond to internal and partner inquiries regarding proper marking, labeling and shipment of dangerous goods.
SME for daily dangerous goods compliance operations including but not limited to determining accurate dangerous goods classifications
Training, Compliance Audits and KPIs
Develop and implement targeted and focused compliance trainings on areas identified through risk assessment and/or audit results.
Responsible for reviewing and ensuring SOPs, process flows and training documents on dangerous goods are accurate, relevant and reflect current policies and procedures.
Conduct on-going training focused on compliance with Dangerous Goods Regulations.
Provide ongoing guidance and direction to IM subsidiaries and business units on Dangerous Goods Regulations as opportunities arise.
Dangerous Goods System & Tool Maintenance
Audit and update systemic tools when changes are made to regulations and new hazardous products are introduced into the network.
Act as dangerous goods SME on process and systemic improvement projects
Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with internal subject matter experts and stakeholders as well as affiliated support organizations to improve dangerous goods safety and compliance performance.
Goods Manager Job for Data Warehousing Platform : Educational Qualifications, Work Experience Requirements & Skills Required
To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business management or related field
5-10 years dangerous goods program experience
5 or more years relevant work experience in project management in a cross functional environment
Currently Certified in Dangerous Goods Shipping (IATA/49CFR)
Expert knowledge of the Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA/49CFR); knowledge of TDG a plus
Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills; ability to prioritize among demanding and sometimes conflicting requirements.
Effectively balance service with regulatory compliance in time sensitive situations.
